Sorry about that suggestion with Bobby Scales. I really thought he would have a hit.
But tomorow I am very confident he will get a hit. So tomorow:
Bobby Scales, ROY contender so far
Fernando Martinez, Jose Reyes' replacement
Brett Gardener, Yankees speedster.

An Unusual Pick

Bobby Scales, the rookie outfielder of the Chicago Cubs has been playing well lately. He is hitting for average and some power. You might want to think about him when choosing you Beat The Streak candidate. That's all, I just needed to update you with that.

Hit Streak

Jacoby Ellsbury goes 0-3 with a HBP. There goes the hit streak. And there go many Beat The Streaks. I'm sorry Jacoby. Has to end at some point. :(

Recommended Picks

Tomorow's suggested picks by me are Aaron Hill of the Blue Jays because he is having a great year batting average wise. He also has decent numbers against Tim Wakefield. Ty Wigginton is also a good pick, however that is only if he plays. His number against the "D-Train" are spectacular. The final choice is new Yankees first baseman: Mark Teixeira. The reason being is that he is batting .400 against Indians Starter Cliff Lee. He has also been on a tear lately so is almost bound to get a hit tomorow.
That raps it up for today.

Today's Picks

Many people today had a tough time chosing who to pick for beat the streak. The reason being is that there are only 5 games going on today. Many picks were Ellsbury, Crawford and Evan Longioria who already has a hit. However, the leader did not chose to go with a player from an early game. Rather, he chose to wait and see what Chipper Jones does at a 9:40 Eastern scheduled start.

Beat The Streak news

One question: Can you Beat The Streak?

Thursday, May 21, 2009

Update

As you all probably know David Ortiz hit his first home run of the year yesterday. I do not think his "power" will be a trend. He is getting older and his wrist has not fully healed since the 2008 ALCS. Big Papi has and RBI tonight but we'll see what happens in the future. Beat the streak update. Recommended picks:
Hanley Ramirez: batting over .340 and facing Andy Sonnanstine
Joe Mauer: 3 hits today including a grand slam
Ryan Zimmerman: batting over .350 and facing pitcher Rich Hill.
If anyone is wondering my BTS is at 8 right now including today. My highest is 12 so far. Just letting you know.
